ONE year after opening, the Isle of Sheppey Academy has been reported by Ofsted as a "serious concern".
Top of the main issues raised was that the number of pupils with special educational needs is double the national average.
The report also says the attainment in AS exams at the end of Year 12 was particularly low in some subjects.
Michael Corkery, Year 13, who moved from the Academy to Canterbury College to continue his A-Levels, said: "The resources to complete one of my A levels wasn't available, and we constantly had substitute teachers throughout key exam periods".
However, Executive head of the Isle of Sheppey Acadamy, has defended the school saying: "We are disappointed but we can alter it - we have got to pick up the gauntlet and we have accepted the challenge."
He challenged those who did not believe in the Acadamy saying: "Judge us in six months time."
