Police bid to save traditional event

Kent Police aim to help out


POLICE officers from Sheppey have stepped in with an offer to save this year's World Walking the Plank Championships in Queenborough.

Organisers have pulled the plug on the event after a series of anti-social behaviour occurred in the past three years of the 13 year event.

The pair have raised nearly £1000 each to go homeless for three nights in central London.

A degree from UKC will be one of the most expensive in the country with any English university being able to charge the maximum due to new government plans.

THE man at the centre of it all again is chairman Paul Scally as Gillingham F.C. report a loss of nearly £500,000.

The account for the year ending May 31 2010 recorded a loss of £463,000.

IOS Academy gets £54m boost

ON the back of a dismal Ofsted inspection, the Isle of Sheppey Academy is now set to land £54m.

The huge sum of money will go towards two new buildings in the east and west side of the island.

A RECENT study by Edinburgh Napier University shows that a significant number of Facebook users from the UK, including Kent, are finding the site to cause stress. 

Research conducted by psychologists found that while the majority of those surveyed said Facebook is great for keeping in touch and general networking, for others, they are starting to feel the pressures.

Top of the main issues raised was that the number of pupils with special educational needs is double the national average.

Sex pervert caught with over 3,000 'obscene' images

A CONVICTED sex pervert has walked free after being found with over 3,000 child abuse photos.

Sheerness resident, Benjamin West, who I happened to work with at Tesco in Sheerness, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court having admitted 28 charges of indecent images.
